On the Night Shift

View performance dates and booking information

On the Night Shift is a brand new commission from French Pyrotechnic wizards, Les Commandos Percu, who wowed audiences at Mintfest and Maryport in 2010 and have a worldwide reputation for incredible productions.

One of the opening events of the prestigious London 2012 Festival, the show will see streams of colour and light blaze across the skies above Lake Windermere, soon after the Olympic Torch has passed through the town. The evening will be in two parts. From 6pm there will be a celebration event to mark the arrival of the torch, then after an interval in which you can go to the loo, have a bite to eat etc, the Lakes Alive part of the evening, On The Night Shift, will kick off, at around 10pm. It will finish by 11pm.

On the Night Shift is not a concert, nor is it a firework display, but it brings the most exciting and exhilarating moments of each to create a spectacular event that you'll remember for a very long time.

Featuring specially selected UK artists (to be announced in February), live music, dance and amazing rhythmic percussion, this will be a show not to be missed.

On the Night Shift will also be performed in Preston as part of the Cultural Olympiad We Play Expo at Preston Guild in September 2012.
